Currently on a 10Mb Line, a friend of mine has 22MB with one company.. little bit pointless as i very much doubt that anywhere will be able to ditriblte stuff @ that kind of speed... Bring on "the internet 2".. 3 dvd's a second... mmmmm

Replying for kirtsy:

Yeah she wants a monitor with it

Software not much of a prob ;)

Pete not sure on the Mac whats the spec? drope her or me a PM :)

Cheers people will let her use the internet and order one

With eduacational discount, the Mac Mini is £375. No monitor, keyboard or mouse though, but you could pick them up for nothing if you don't mind second hand.
Alternatively Dell's PCs start at only £299

Your right there's probably not a single source that could distribute to you at the full speed, but what you'd gain is able to leech from serveral differant sources at once ;)

I used to work for an ISP and man did I love night shifts, would have three or four PC's all leeching, could max out each PC's 100mbit LAN connection  was oh so very fast. :slayer: :slayer:

I do miss those days - but I don't miss the poo from the users!

oh what i would give....

i think i'd host download fest's charge people like £5 an hour to use that connection!

People @ uni's are the best, they get stupid download speeds i seem to remember 1gb lines all wired up with firber optics.

Two reasons for going to uni:

1.) Girls

2.) Internet Connection

oh and qualifications.... if your in to that kinda stuff....

Well this all sounds very promising but I haven't got a fu<king clue about computers so may just delegate this task to someone who knows even just a little bit... Jamie?

Thanks everyone...

Tranny- Thanks but I wouldn't even know where to begin with building my own computer hehe

Good luck (y) :D

On second thoughts i wouldn't even trust him with a toaster! lol

But I'll probably just end up with a ****ty dell because it's the easiest option.

Did the obvious thing and ordered a dell... only I always have issues with my addresses so I'm not going to get it for aaaages.

im from sa cant help with places but i must say if u can pick up a dell for 400 in the uk go 4 it. good pc's and (here) they have excellent after sales support.

my personal favorite for graphics design is bottom of the range Geforce grpahics card with Epox or Gigabyte mother board, 1024 meg ram and SATA Hard drive. hope that can like 2 help. (Graphics intensive work as well)
