Central locking faulty

Hi all;
Newbie!!
I have a 2001 Brava that is giving me some gip!
The drivers door lock is very stiff to open and does not always open the door or the other doors with the central locking. Sometimes it opens the other doors and sometimes the door locks only go 1/2 way up. A bit of a pain trying to get in the car at the mo, the lock has to be worked to get it to open and often i have to go around to the passenger door to get in. Now to add to this I cant open the rear doors without using the handles on the inside. Any ideas anyone?

back doors prob have the childlocks on, open doors and on the side of the door there will be a small plastic clip, push this clip in the opposite direction to what it is now. that should sort that one out, as for your stiff locks i would spray a littel wd40 into the barrels, worked a treat on my C5 a few weeks ago.

Tried the WD40 trick, no joy, it feels like its something else.
Seems to affect the rear doors as well.
Rear doors only open from the inside and this is something to do with the front door, hard to explain but if and I mean if the drivers door opens freely the others also open.

open all your doors, pull all your locks up, then close each door (the doors must be fully closed) now try and lock the car with the key,

if you have one of the doors open and try and lock it it will not lock as far as i know

Thanks mate but no joy and to make matters worse the rear doors wont open at all now; Child locks where on and although the door locks appear to work (go up) when you pull on the handle nothing; locked dead!

I have brought a new central locking mechanisum for the drivers door and have read that the yellow relay in the glovebox may be an issue. So that is the next step.

If anyone has any ideas please shout, fast loosing my cool with this. Ironically the car is absolutley mint; almost as new hardly a mark on her..... no good if ya cant get in it though hay.....
