Technical Car won't select any gears???

Not sure if this is any help but i had the gearbox failure light on not long after i bought the car and it turned out to the brake switch as mentioned in earlier posts but they also replaced my accelorator pedal! all is good now! the cost was £136 at a fiat dealer but covered by my warranty but it sorted the problem out.

I'm in Mansfield Nottinghamshire mate...

Been tootling around in my Coupé, but i've sold it now so the money will be going towards fixing the Stilo, then its a question of whether I keep it or not...:bang:

I take my Stilo to a dealer in Worksop which isn't far from Mansfield at all, its the Stoneacre garage which is a Fiat Dealer but they are very helpful, they charged me £70 to put the car on examiner and sorted any faults that popped up. Worth a try maybe mate. Im sure i'll have number somewhere let me know if you want it d and i'll fish it out.

Cheers folks, but i've found a gearbox specialists 5 mins from me! They deal with Selespeed gearboxes so hopefully they can sort it out - Plus they only charge £40 for a diagnostic check (y)

Right, i've had the damned thing 2 weeks and i've got the message 'AUTO GEARBOX FAIL', it will only get in gear once in 10 times-ish, is it the pump thats gone?

:cry::mad::cry::mad:

I'm pretty much sick of it already, get a sick feeling in my stomach every time I go out in it:mad:

Hi, i've got a similar problem with my 99 punto. Took it to Fit and they have said that the Accelerator Pedal switch is faulty, but they're saying the whole ECU also needs replacing and at 500 quid ill have to scrap it.Diagnostic suggests water damage

Is there any way of checking- im tempted to just get the ACC Pedal switch fixed and see what happens?

Cheers

Any idea what i should be looking to pay for a second hand one?

Fiat have said there are two types a 2 screw fixing and a 4 screw fixing, though don't know how to check which is mine?

thanx

Hi T / All - found a second hand g/box ECU on the cheap so progress hopefully..
Ive got a guy who can install it, but any idea if it will need recoding?

Im hopeful it will plug and play...the used one will auto retune to my engine? do you know he doesnt and wont do it til i can tell him.

Gearbox ECU dosen't control engine so won't need to auto tune! Check your other threads that I've left posts in. Trying to help and finding you've got loads of threads on the same issue, your just as bad as me. lol.:D

Make sure it is the Gearbox and not Engine ECU you have a replacement for!
