Technical Car judders when clutch bites in 1st gear

I took the slug(its that slow) on a run up motorway last night, on returning to the car later I found that when I put it in 1st gear and it starts to pull off the slug judders violently when on the bite. Anyone got any ideas what has caused this or what it is????
