Completely agree.

jrkitching I'm a bit surprised tbh! The S&S in your car has worked flawlessly hasn't it? Tbh I think this is proof that a properly maintained car driven by someone who knows how to drive a car (don't hold the clutch in needlessly, rest your hand on the gear lever and so on.....)
I think we need to start pushing the basics with people on here and not letting the uneducated steer the ship.
Charge your battery.
Take your hand off the gear stick unless you're changing gear.
Keep your foot away from the clutch pedal unless you're changing gear
If you've got a dualogic, remember that your left leg can be used to hold your car on the brakes on an incline.
This takes care of almost all of the issues with S&S.
I never understand why people get so worked up over S&S not working, usually ranting about how they'd happily have a car without S&S when an S&S car with non-functioning S&S behaves exactly like a non-S&S car! The problem is that these Neanderthals find this thread, read the one post from a fellow Neanderthal and try to club (geddit? club?) together to form some sort of nonsensical anti-S&S club. Yes it's an emissions trick (who's going to complain about lower road tax?) and yes it is a little finicky, but if it doesn't work then all that happens is your engine keeps on running, which is what cars always used to do anyway........
