mine was in the garage today- was called at 4pm to say fixed...
picking up in the morning!
is it really fixed?
not hugely optimistic!
will report back tomorrow!
Fingers crossed!

Before you took it in, did they tell you they've got something new to try, or did you take it in because you've been hassling them and they took it to look at it again?
the day they had it from their recall i got it back and informed them str8 away it hadnt worked-
booked it back in there and then for yesterday when i could get a courtesy car-
i imagine they went back thru their routine- but no miles put on car this time...so im not sure- tech not there to speak too.
i picked up this morning, car was VERY cold...reversed out of space...NO LIGHTS!
got in car this evening...at work all day..car cold...reversed...NO LIGHTS...
car feels quicker...smoother....we will see....
so..still no recall for anyone else?
Not for us yet. In fact since you had yours in for the "recall", we've been called by our tech to tell us there are no updates.
We're crossing our fingers for your latest "fix"...
STILL NO LIGHTs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thats 2 days....not a sniff....
the service receptionists words were 'weve done it properly this time'
excuse me!...why not first time!
but it seems ok...
it was done by fiat hartwell in abingdon....now they have (hopefully) fixed mine maybe they can sort others?
i believe the service receptionists words were 'we have done it properly this time'
NEWSFLASH
they did not. fiat CS will now have to pick this up for me. Its ridiculous.
Still not fixed then?
-to start of with had you had the software update done (if required) which was a recall from memory?
now a few points; the stop/start will not work if seatbelt is not on, door not shut, reverse gear
engaged, cold engine, wipers on at full speed, heated rear window on, air-con temperature, low battery charge and first period of use...any of these can cause the warning light to come on.
-
i must correct you- in these situations the display will read 'stop start is unavailable'- The s/s warning lights are absolutley not supposed to show.
the general 'fault' light is not supposed to show
i know there is a feeling that some of this is due to owner lack of knowledge of system. This is entirely not the case. this is a fault.
I was merley pointing out situations where s/s is unavailable
Suppose I could read the whole thread but........
this is a 'minnow' thread compared to stilo spring thread
has garage changed/swopped over the IBS yet?
was a long long long thread about stilo springs breaking & why etc etc....

i meant the IBS?
Once fitted, the IBS monitors the battery condition (voltage capacity, drop, etc) over the next 5 starts with a gap of at least 8 hours between them to determine the battery's ability to perform the repeated stop/start operations. If it's starting from a weak first-charge, you'll have system problems.
