don't want to rob anybody's "slot" as there seems to be JUST 1 left- but I'm happy to sit as "reserve", as I'll definitely be there..,

Charlie

Charlie.... you won't be robbing anybody's slot, you have as much right as anyone to put your name on the list. We usually get more than 6 people on the list anyway.

At 10:30 am on Monday 27th April the list will be closed, then moderators and events staff will vote on which 6 cars will get a place on the hill run.
.

Hmmm....thought I had? I filled out a form with name reg number, contact number, and added myself to the list of attendees...Have I missed something else?

Only 5 days left to put your name on the hill run list.

Any names added after 10:30am on Monday 27th April will not be considered.

PLEASE ONLY PUT YOUR NAME DOWN FOR THIS IF YOU ARE 100% ATTENDING THIS EVENT.

Quote:
Test Hill was built in 1909 as another facility to encourage use of the track for development and test work. It is 352 feet long and divided into three sections, starting with a gradient of 1 in 8, then 1 in 5 and the top third has a gradient of 1 in 4. It was used by manufacturers to test both the ability of cars to climb steep hills and also of their brakes to stop them coming down.
Can I ask a serious question please?

What is so special about this hill?

1in8 is simple, and 1in4 isn't even as steep as our 100yd drive. We live on a "two chevron" hill of 1in4 (and steeper in places) and have no trouble at all.
It's just part of normal life here in Cornwall.

1in4 hills are commonplace and I even cycle up them. :)

Puzzled,
Mick.

Mick, for modern cars it is no challenge really.
But it is the history of the place that is important.

You can only be considered for a place on the hill run if you're coming to the event. ;)

If you're coming to the event, you need to click the "Add Me" button at the top of the event title page here: https://www.fiatforum.com/events/418532-autoitalia-brooklands-2015-a.html and fill in the event registration form in your User CP. There's a link to the form on the event title page.

Thanks but I use the iPhone app and doesn't seem to be an "add me" button. Do I have to access this from a pc?
