Technical Broken upper glovebox hinge, help

That would be really helpful if you could mate! Its so annoying not having the lid, every time I get in the car I think, 'one day i'll get round to it'. I havnt yet because I have no idea where to start and what to do! But if you could knock up a guide of what you did while its still fresh in your mind I can get to work!

Hows about this then two hinges and one magnetic catch ..job done and you wont need any soothing handcream after wards..:D

Guess what snapped yesterday. Upper glovebox left hinge. LH driven car, so it's the on nearest the radio.

Used the wife's magic mirror and found 5 torx screws jammed up in there. They seem impossible to get at. Is it an idea to remove the airbag module there? Does anyone have an idea how that is done?

Reading the guide in a second.

I used a flexable screw driver. Still an awkward job to do but didn't have to remove anything to get at the screws.

Thanks. It seems like a good idea to change the screws to unbrako hex screws. I too have bits with a ball end that makes it possible to screw off angle. Prices here tend to be 4 times UK prices, to I fear a deep dig in the pocket here.

Will post up when I get psycked up for this one.

Its tight but you can get the heater out on its own. You do have to bend the airbag switch panel so it might be worth taking that off as well, but i thought you have to take the whole glove box out to do that.

Well I'm happy to buy one and send it too you if it works out much cheaper.

Thanks for that, but it's already been taken care of. A used part here is the same price as a new in the UK, so a new from the UK is on it's way. :) I appreciate your offer, and ofcourse let me know if I could do anything for you.
