Technical Broken injector nozzle 2.8idtd

So yesterday the nozzle snapped off on the injector of cylinder no1 and did the usual damage. It's a clean break at a 45degree angle. Anyone any thoughts on what would have caused it? The only thing I can think of is that the injector may have been slightly loose as it was a bit wet from diesel around the closest head bolt and it came out really easily.

Could be the valve went and broke the injector, timing slipped etc.

Could be the valve went and broke the injector, timing slipped etc.

Timing is still spot on as she will start at the first turn of the key. I'm guessing a dropped valve as I can't think of anything else the injector could have hit.
