Well the Bravo is no more, 18 Months in and it wasnt reliable enough for a daily driver, had 4 injectors, a gearbox, a set of coils and a pair of track rods, the coils and tre's im not too fussed about but i'd expect better than having to replace a gearbox and a set of injectors on a 5 year old 30000 mile car.

I'll still always be around Cinq's but i'd not buy another Bravo, or any other modern Fiat tbh, i looked at an Abarth 500 to replace it but it has the same engine and i wanted something (hopefully!) more reliable so its been replaced by a R56 Mini Cooper S from Mini with full warranty etcs.

No problems in the 1st week so an improvement so far!

I'll miss the looks of the Bravo and the boot size but not much else as the Mini is much better to drive and be in, but they arent comparable so its pretty irrelevant really, different classes and costs of cars.
 
these bravos are they built in a factory unique to them?
ie one that sergio wanted to shut because of abysmal trade union power?
cant blame you shooting it by the way
 
All 4 injectors flow rate tested and failed, coils didn't go down at the same time but 1 by 1 over the period I had the car, the TJet doesn't have a replaceable inline fuel filter either which is a very poor design, can't think of any other cars that have this set up?

Really. Name me 5 current petrols that do.

Diesels do, but 99.9% of petrol cars from the last 2 decades don't tbh. None of our modern Fiats do, neither does out petrol Toyota, and thats had 180k put on the clock by us, so can't be a design flaw tbh, just not required in the EU/UK.
 
All I can say is good luck you will need it with a Mini. Everyone I know who has one has had nothing but problems, I hope you don't with yours.

I've had a mini for the last 16 month great little car and the dealer network is excellent, I little bit of paint came off the buttons on the steering wheel and they replaced them all under warrantee no arguments, leant us a new mini clubman to rattle around in and generally made every aspect of dealing with them a pleasure, they run local mini owners events and cruises for charity and you get huge discounts for being a member of any of the main mini clubs.......

Fiat argued with me over an £8 part (that I was paying for) and were generally obnoxious every time I've had to deal with them.....

This is why we didn't replace our punto hgt with another fiat

Please quantify your "everyone I know" how many people are we talking what models and engines, because I know lots of members of the local mini club who do not have half the problems I see on here with fiats
 
The op appears to have bought a car over 3 years old . He doesn't say what history it had and, who knows, it could have been seriously mistreated. Who knows what fuel had been used , lubrication , heavy driving etc etc .
Sorry to hear you had problems too great to continue, but there are plenty of us here who are more than happy with our Bravos.

Went to change mine today for a Clio 182 but don't have the money to settle my finance so stuck with the bravo a little longer, falling out of love with it I think , nice choice on the mini
 
Due at least partly to the fact that people mainly only post problems you will apparently find numerous faults with all brands. The tech on most modern cars isn't very reliable after the first flush of youth. Fiat not the best build but these days also probably not the worst.

But you now driving the 1.6THP? Good luck with all the timingbelt (chain) problems. It's no suprise a lot of carmakers turning back to belts instead of chains.
Other problems are the turbo, sensors and software. Probably the weakest turbo engine after the 1.4 TSI.

This is may explain why I can get a bravo from work with 27.5 % discount of list making it cheaper to buy than a 500 on the same scheme...


I think fiat would do a lot better with some models if the list price wasn't over optimistic, our delta had a list price of over 26k when fitted with the optional 18s but no one but a complete over rich nutter would have paid that. Unrealistic list price adversely affects press reviews, published depreciation rates etc all to the detriment of the brand.
 
A 1.4 non turbo would be 11600, a 140 multi air would be 12800 a sludge burner would be a whopping 13k.

Tbf that's a lot of car for the money, couldn't get a specced up 500 TA for that. They offer similar levels of discount on Guilettas as well...and they wonder why the residuals a aren't good.
