Technical Brake pipe issue

One of the solid metal brake pipes has rusted through on my punto. Is it possible to replace with one from a scrap yard at home, or is it a job for a garage (i have very limited tools). Thanks

it should be possible to do at home, as long as the bit you get from scrappies is in good condition.

Dont think its costly for the actual pipe new, think its the time needed to bend the new pipe to shape which puts price up...

Its a garage job they will replace the whole pipe with a copper alloy pipe. Also make sure they check other pipes in the area which may be also about to fail

Thanks guys, i think i will check out local garages simply because they may be more issues than i have seen :S

Special tools are needed to flare the pipe ends and make tight bends without crimping the pipe. They are not costly but for one job probably not worth the expense.
