I am looking to buy a 2001 Fiat Punto HGT in my area. According to the owner, it has a few small issues. The car's airbag light intermittently turns on, its third gear synchro is "a bit noisy," but I don't know what type of sound yet, as I have yet to see the car, and it sometimes stalls at idle just before warming up. I would like to know if these issues are easily fixable and if I should avoid buying.

I would say it all depends on price and how hands on you are. I would say a gearbox rebuild will be the most expensive bit, so you may need to see if parts available and a good rebuild specialist can give a firm price.
Does seem naturally like seller is playing down the issues.;)
Air bag light can be just a bad connection, but equally could be the steering wheel "squib" if available or an issue at the airbag computer.
Many things can affect running/stalling as warming up, temp sensor, air leaks, throttle body faults, etc.
