Boosting MPG with hydrogen (HHO) cell

Boosting MPG with hydrogen (HHO) cell

How much have your insurance company loaded your premium by for this modification out of interest?. :)

LOL. Can you imagine the conversation "sorry, you say you now have a bottle of water under the bonnet?" "yes, with a couple of bits of wire in the water" "wire? so you're mixing electricity and water?" "that's correct" "OMG " :D

I would like to see how long your engine lasts.

Hydrogen as a gas burns hotter than diesel or petrol, it is also thinner and can permeate past piston rings and valve seats leading to burnt valve seats, causi backfires which will stall the turbo, and extreme crank case pressures, also the byproduct of burning an hydrogen oxygen mix is the production of water, super environmentally friendly but will wreck the steel engine block pistons, head exhaust etc oh and you're feeding water into the turbo. It also ignites easier than diesel or petrol leading to preignition.

Aside from all of this. The quantity of hydrogen oxygen mix you feed in is so small and the power required to break the H2O into its components means that It will actually increase the fuel consumption, many companies that pedal this tripe will fiddle the ecu to run the engine lean and cause engine damage as well

It's another modern day snake oil
Best case is it does naff all

Lets not forget the Earth was once considered to be flat and those who said it was round were considered to be nutters.

Not so crazy now are they?

there are still people today that believe the earth is flat!
Much like their are people who believe you can take huge amounts of power from an engine to produce a gas through an inefficient electrolysis process using heavy equipment bolted in a car then feed this into an internal combustion engine which is also pretty inefficient, while seeing improvements in fuel economy?

their are people who believe magnets strapped to fuel lines will improve economy and their are people who think that an 47p resistor will make your car go faster

Nice to see someone else realise that hydrogen is far from viable ATM, wether created in the car or not.

I've looked into this and there seems to be 2 opposing gangs, the "FOR" with the high spec custom built HHO producing equipment and the "AGAINST" with 6 washing up liquid bottles and a hose pipe.

Do I believe the theory? - Yes, in time technology will prevail and water, one way or another will be used as a fuel.

Do I think its possible today? - Maybe, but its being keep far from the eyes of people like me if it is.

MEP hit the nail on the head, it "is far from viable ATM".

Is that because the technology doesn't exist or is it because its being hidden from us?

Thats the question I'd like answering. ;)

where do you get heavy from? probably more weight in a 2ltr bottle of coke. the set up ive seen thats reported to be returning about 70mpg on a diesel van is tiny. no need for the gezzer to lie to me as he wasn't selling it

I'm not sure how true it is but I read somewhere that 1 square meter of active surface producing HHO is require per litre of the engine to make any noticeable difference to MPG.

Thats why small cc vehicles fitted with something like this below can show a slight improvement in MPG.

And why vehicles fitted with something like this below are laughable.

So what happens when I fit the following to my car:

Tuning chip / resistor to make it run rich
HNO full cell / Blue Peter contraption that at best will probably blow my face off to allow the engine to burn all the fuel that's getting in there
Magnets to smooth out the fuel flow and to stop the next polar shift
a shredded coke can to make the air swirl sorry I meant vortex
Stupidly large tubo and intercooler of an Ivecco bus
Have to get myself some snake oil and pour in old engine oil to "bulk up the petrol mix" cos that always gives more MPG's

Will I get a million MPG's and my engine will be cleaned from the inside out to operating theatre cleanlyness?

Personally I find it hard to believe that even today some people still think the earth is flat.

Flat earth theory is still around. On the internet and in small meeting rooms in Britain and the US, flat earth believers get together to challenge the "conspiracy" that the Earth is round.

Well if you think about it the earth is actually "flat" ;)

If you had an ocean with no waves on it aqs well as no tide effecting it then the ocean would indeed be flat in terms of you being able to put a spirit level on it and measure that it's flat and level and it would also be part of a larger spherical shape :p

\pedant mode off :p

I'd say you fit into the 6 bottles of fairy liquid group and your car would probabely not even start ... :p

I guess that would depend on the length of your level. ;)
