General Bluetooth ELM327 & FiatECUScan ...

Currently reading:
General Bluetooth ELM327 & FiatECUScan ...

No i get options for ports 8,6,5,4 , 9 and 7 when I use the scroll

But my device uses serial port
Inbound com port 5 and
Outbound COM port 6

I know from the other diag prog OBD gauge that it needs a lot of clear memory and I often need to do a soft reset in order to get enough memory to get that to run

Just given it another try, configured the Bluetooth, even managed to asign an outgoing port. Still wont connect.

If it's any help. I have device bluetooth connected ok to interface and tried FES setting in the INBOUND com port number and with mine it then tries to connect

After that I have FES program stating CONNECTION FAILED I/O error which is fair enough with my older version of interface. I think that's about as far as I can go until I update to a newer interface

OBD gauge connects straight up. Ha! I'll stick with that for now

I can see laptops and pcs being capable of one port for in + out comms but I don't think Windows Mobile can. If Yani has this working on windows mobile 6 then he must have a different way to get two way comms

Hi,

I think you need to define only one COM port.
It is the same procedure for any software that uses the Bluetooth ELM interface.
1. Pair the bluetooth interface with the Windows Mobile device
2. Assign a COM port to the bluetooth interface
3. Run the software and connect using that COM port

A few seconds after clicking "Connect" in FESmobile the lights on the ELM interface should begin to flash.

Hello Yani
Thanks for replying.

ELM interface is assigned to com7.
FESMobile has com7 selected.

Same error.

Edit.
Doesn't matter what I do it always give me the same error message when I try to connect, even if there is no Bluetooth interface paired.

Hi,

Just click "Settings" and change the "Font Size" to a lower value. It has options 1,2,3,4...

Yani

ive just realised with the elm interface you cant get airbags....ive just bought FES and a vagcom cable to do airbags, the elm will live in the OBD to play when i get the OBD screen on my pc front end working.

when my bluetooth dongle comes, ill install a few links like the ELM patch cable 1 on fes.net and see if i can get ABS once ive sorted my super annoying airbag porblem... :(
