I've installed the insurance black box on my fiat panda 2014 model. The installation goes well, but I've noticed that after this operation the blue&me stopped working.
I've tried to connect an usb stick of 4GB but it will be not recognized and also the aux will produce no audio output nor with Android/iOS devices.
A friend told me that maybe the blue&me module is gone but I don't think so, all was working before installing the black box and I don't think that this can be the problem.
Any suggestion on how to restore it?

Is the odometer (mileage indicator) flashing? This is the indicator that the actual Blue&Me module has failed - CANBus cannot communicate with the module. If this is the case then it leaves a fairly high drain on the battery while the car is standing and without regular use the battery will be flat within 3 or 4 days depending on its starting condition. To remove this battery drain the module has to be disconnected under the Driver's seat (UK Right hand drive). Disconnection at the Radio head unit does not prevent battery drain.

no, the mileage indicator isn't flashing so I suppose that the problem isn't a faulty Blue&Me module?

Well that's my experience; I'm not familiar with the black boxes in terms of how they interface with the vehicle and its systems. Could there be some conflict, I'm assuming it uses its' own telemetry? Its not fighting to use the Bluetooth on your phone..?

The black box is a self contained system that needs only to be connected to the + and - of the battery of the veichle. It will not use bluetooth or communicate with any other system in the veichle.
I suspect that the problem is born when I've disconnected the battery to attach the black box cables. My idea is that the Blue&Me is at the moment locked or not recognized?

I've not had to do this previously but I think there's a "reboot" sequence that requires the battery to disconnected for thirty minutes before reconnection? Others on here probably have more experience? Is there something in the handbook, I'm away at the moment so can't add much more?

official handbook don't explain nothing about, I've readed of some peoples that will disconnect the battery, but not sure what is the correct procedure. Someone say that only the negative pole need to be disconnected? I hope there is someone that can give me more info about

Sounds silly, but first disconnect it again, leave 10 mins and try again. Try taking hte fuse out of the black box while you do this and refitting after wards just in case its doing something while the car ECU is booting up and distracting something....
You talk about the fuse of the blue&me system?Where is it located and how I identify it? NB: the black box can't be opened, it provide just a positive and negative cables that needs to be attached to the battery. I can only disconnect them but no way to pend the black box

No I meant the black box fuse. That way you reconnect the car without it connected, and then put its fuse in so you know there would be no conflict with th car.

you mean the two cable that connect the black box to the battary or I'm misunderstanding?

The black box is something like the one in this picture

I've disconnected the battery negative cable and leave it disconnected for a while, then connected it and the B&M system still not working. I have the doubt that it's not installed on the car also if I'm able to select aux in the stereo sources and have the phone control on the steering?

I assume that black box somehow is monitoring your driving and communicates with the insurers so they can see you don’t go too fast etc? That means, I guess, that you had to link it to your phone? If the phone is now linked to the black box, it cannot also link to the BlueAndMe system, as only one Bluetooth connection can be active at a time.

And, I suppose it could be smarter than that? The insurers would be happier if the phone can’t be used while driving and that you can’t be distracted by loud music - although the latter seems unlikely :)

nope, the black box works only to monitor if there is a crash and had no bluethoot capabilities. At this point I don't know what to try to get the system working again. Last thing I can do is to leave the battery disconnected for a whole night and try if this fixthe problem?

Ah - ok. I know many of those insurance devices are rather ‘smarter’ than that, although to be fair they generally plug into the car diagnostic socket and so know throttle position, acceleration etc too.
I doubt leaving the battery off any longer will help. 1 minute or 24 hours, it’s basically the ‘switch off, switch on again’ fix. The only thing that may help - as others mentioned above - is reset via a dealer computer or the DIY MultiECU version - the so-called Proxi Realignment. Or, (given yiu don’t have the flashing mileage that usually indicates that’s needed) a new Blue&Me unit (which hides under the drivers seat)

Under the driver's seat for UK right-hand-drive models; I think we are dealing with a European car therefore left-hand-drive, so passenger seat possibly? Sorry for interfering @Herts Hillhopper ;)

I have an eu version of the panda so I think I need to check under the left seat. Anyway can someone confirm me that if the B&Me wasn't equipped I had no aux and usb port? Another thing, where I can buy a DIY MultiECU ?
