I must admit when I maxed my old turbo it was on a air feild and meant comming off the taxi way onto the straight as fast as possible, it was also one of the scariest experiences of my life even though I have been faster in other cars.

It is all very well having a powerful Cento but the fact is the big torque that makes it quick in gears is the thing the Cento chassis is not very good at handling, my old car on high boost would light up the front tyres squeezing the throttle changing lanes on the motorway in anything but bone dry conditions.

to have a fully sorted Turbo that is usable everyday will cost mega bucks and even though the thought of blowing stuff of the road in your wee car may seem like fun, to be honest there is better stuff out there that will do it as std and other cars that would make a better starting point. You also have to remember when you get fed up with the car and you will that you will not come close to recouping any of the outlay.

My advice sell the Cento, buy and MX-5 for £1.5K and spend another £1K supercharging it, you will have a car that will blow even the best Cento turbo into the bushes, out handle most cars, will be reliable and if you sell up you will get you grand back for the charger and the same cash for the car

Don't know, but i don't think i will ever get fed of the cento, been driving them since i was 18 and now am 24 :). But that's just the person i am.

turbo is defo nice, but i think the 1.4 is defo the cheaper way forward!

if its a video of you speeding along i dont think its appropriate to post it

however if its something else then the easiest way of posting a vid would be to upload it to youtube and then copy the link into a post

However i am beginning to think the more you post about speeds you drive at and the thrill you get from it, you will end up either crashing the car (hence wasting a turbo cinq) and possibly killing yourself/injuring yourself and as has been pointed out, the car wouldnt handle those types of speed without serious investment, which i also believe you dont have at this moment in time

gotta remember with that engine... its just the engine... looking for at least another 500 for engine management. rolling road time. and other tweeks your car needs unless already done

The engine looks nice (fully rebuilt which is good) but the turbo aint the best.

imho turbo and 1.4 are about the same price depending on how you go about it. a turbo will always have more thrill to it (plus it makes all the right sounds and the torque) but the 1.4 will be easier to drive... id partx mine for a proper sorted 1.4. but i couldnt do without a quick cento... wont believe how often im asked to sell my car...

Can't help but think that if thats how you drive we shouldn't be telling you how to go faster.

If you upload vids of you speeding on here you will get flamed.

its not on public roads and very often on the motorway at those speeds i am just staying with the flow of traffic.i have seen many cars on the m1 undertaking at well over 100mph on the new section by luton and in all my years of driving i have never had an accident in a car......and been driving since i was 17 and now 42 probably better record than most that are critizing.....if you are a perfect driver then u can say something.there are times and places to do speed and its never done in a dangerous situation.i have been thru defensive driving courses done rallying and many other forms of motorsport and never had anything serious happen.so before critizing someone get to know the facts first.
this reply isnt just to this post but to a few others as well

Unless you have your own private one, motorways are public roads, even if constructed under a PFI.

There is no excuse for speeding, ever, full stop.

50% over the limit is insane.

The only time and place to exceed 70mph is on a racetrack or in a forest.

Well it might not have done if people had not deviated from the original topic...

how true rich but they just seem to like to critizise on here....they dont know me and what i have access to as my mate owns a farm with a disused airfield in the middle of it and its used for rally sprints most weekends but they tend to lash out before finding out the truth and of course they are such perfect drivers!!!!! wonder how many points they have against my 0 in 25 years......its pathetic, forums are here for people to chat and help each other out....well thats what i thought and how wrong i was.
