Rainbows or focal or dls components are what your after. Especially as when you get them amped up you will likely realise you wont need rear speakers.

Avoid Alpine speakers, There amps are good value for money though. And there headunits are brilliant not much can compete with there headunits. Rest of the range is sadly lacking.

Pioneer make some very nice headunits as well.

Subs again rainbow, DLS, RE, Focal, JL make the nice gear around but it costs as a result of them being good the amp will end up costing more due to power requirements but it all becomes worth it when you hear it.

I would get the rainbow components myself or have a look on ebay for some DLS components.

Avoid kenwood, sony, panasonic if you can there gear is rather lacking and well i have the attitude that if you want something its worth spending the money and making sure you get the best you can not just settling for something.

one last thing ... dont spose ill find them much cheaper elsewhere but i just thought id ask if there is any good sites people order from

let me know!

cheers :worship:

i dont want to confuse things but aren't the fusions a lot more powerful than the rainbows? the fusion is max 240w when the rainbow is 150w? or am i totally off track, im probably biased because my whole car has fusion throughout, amp, 6x9's, front speakers and sub etc. sounds perfect to me. whats the main difference that makes the rainbows better?

with the top end speakers, they have better cones, made of kevlar etc, so are stronger. Tweeters are made of silk/ titanium and the voice colis will be better balanced with the magnets for better quality of the sound.

It depends if you want SPL (volume) or SQ (quality)

Watts dont mean everything especially max watts keeping that in mind some of the really crappy speakers which advertise 800watts would be better there simply not. You might only get that output at a certain freqency for a few seconds. Its not RMS output which is far more important.

It the response freqency range and how they sound which is the most important thing if they sound bright or warm or grainy etc.

Rainbows will sound loads better than the fusions. Especially 6x9's which try to do just about everything and fail at all of it.

They dont offer good mid range the treble is usually naff and the bass is all soggy and crap sounding.

If you can spend the extra £30 though the deluxes are deffinately worth the money which are these.

There one of the best speakers for sub £200 around.

haha i was toying with getting the deluxe ones but its a tenner delivery and i only wanted to spend £100 max so im over budget as it is :D

hopefully they will arrive nice as fast, and no doubt ill be on here in a few days time either telling you they are really good or asking how to get them working :D

what about sound deadening for behind the speakers when i put them in? is it a must?

ok ... i ordered them last night so hopefully they should come tomorrow and ill pull a sickie and spend the day havin a bash at puttin them in :D

seems strange but i cant wait to start tearing my car up haha :p

hrm i just read that the max mounting depth of standard pods is around 46mm

My Rainbows are 63 / 61 mm Mounting depth so i guess ill need to keep them under the bed or something till i can afford autoleads doorpod things (n)

anyone know if i can get them up halfords? and how much they are? or if there is another way to get them in? :D

:p

If you have a jigsaw or something just cut some wooden rings out and then mount them on your door. and mount the speakers on to them.

hrm ill have a play tomorrow ... id rather spend the extra cash on door adaptors if its gonna look alot better ... what would you mount the wooden rings with? glue? if i can see the wooden rings i know im too picky to live with that :D

Yeah, you could mod the door cards to give a little extra mounting depth :) It would mean fibreglassing...........:D
