General Barchetta meet 11th of May Watford

Hi all,:)

Sorry for the late post, been rushing around with having family over from Cyprus.

Was good to meet others and see more B,s over at Red Dot and glad to hear
that all are pleased with there new goodies, ie Gsr induction, Red Dot Brakes and disc,s and getting on the rollers.

I,m very happy with the new GSR kit and remap. (y)

Tony and Avgousto have put alot of time and effort into my B this previous week so as to get it right for me. Thanks guys.

Glad i had my nephew come over and help out too.
The B is much more smoother and has a nice torque line all through the gears.

We have gone from approx 137-139bhp / 98 torque to a nice 152.4bhp / 107.6 torque.

It feels and sounds great. :D and was surprised how the small extension added to the induction made another 2.5 bhp and a whopping nine pounds extra torque. over the previous 150 bhp runs without.
Well done Peter. (y)

Its nice to know all liked Tia my pup, she is a great dog and gets better by the day.
Nice Pics Lee(y)

Was a shame we did not get time to get all the B,s out for a run, and that i had to dash off early. Wanted to get my nephew Mike down to north weald for the 1/4mile drag race. Managed to only just catch and see the last run of the day which was 10seconds something. American muscle car.

Hope we can arrange another get together soon though with more No's and have a nice run.

Virginia Waters was nice. (y)

Some great pictures people (y) and some cracking results from GSR / Red-Dot :)

I had planned to come down and watch the events, but I got invited out for lunch instead

sorry for no show, but priorities got changed very short notice. :(
i'm really sorry for having missed it. Seemed like a very good day. (y)

Ah well, it's gonna be a long hot summer anyways, so there'll be other opportunities (i hope). ;)

Of course, not being able to attend had some consequences (besides an unused ferry ticket):
  • one being to put an induction kit on hold... but that leaves me more time to think about a variant on Docs Dysons Design :)
  • the other being, that i have now box with a selection of Belgian Waffles and Chocolate sitting on a shelve :D (but given the temps, some of it might have melted anyways before i got to Watford)
  • the most annoying: becuz not being away on sunday, the B was parked in + 30 C° in plain sun and within reach of a joker with a garden hose in a very hard water area :(. I managed to get some of the stains off by using vinegar on the windows, but most of the bodywork is no longer Shiny Silver, but dishwater grey marble  and i am not inclined to use vinegar and a kitchen scrub on the paintwork
On the upside, on Friday the B passed the MOT retest, thanks to a Remus stainless exhaust, which -once warmed up- delivers a deep growl in tunnels and under bridges :slayer:

Have had the GSR kit on for a few days now and it still sounds lovely. ECU has just about got used to the airflow, although once or twice it chokes up a little bit but a few more miles will iron that out. Luckily I've been on 30mph roads when it's done it and sticking it in neutral and revving through has cleared it.

The kit is fine, but it still sits a little high under the bonnet and has made contact and scorched my bonnet liner and marked the pipe :( but otherwise it's fine. Maybe needs a bit more cutting off the main join so it'ss a little lower.

Still very happy in general with it though :)

Unfortunately the bonnet is very low. I wouldn't want to cut of more of the hose because then angle gets akward. Best thing is to remove the bonnet liner, which is a waste of material in any case (and will aid handling when removed even if not a lot:D).

Hmmmm, not sure about that one Peter - might need a re-visit!

I would not been keen to remove the insulation, gets very hot under there and quite loud - would not like to think of the possible heat induced paint damage! Do the Punto's have the same issue?
