Ive got a CDA and I'm wondering if anyone else has found a better way to fit them. I assume you all kept the original piece with the mass air sensor in?
Did anyone remove the breather pipe? If so did you just leave it open or put some kind of filter over it? (I mean the breather which takes air our of the engine and feeds ot back into the air intake).
Cheers,
Matt.
PS. I'll also give it another clean
Matt, I have put a K&N filter on, the method I used was to keep the pipe from the throttle body, to this attach a ally adapter 70mm to 70mm, then the rubber flexible pipe that joins the air mass sensor to the existing filter housing, use this to join the ally adaptor to the air mass sensor, then the K&N goes directly onto the opposite end of the air mass sensor. the space is very tight, I have also put an air feed in to cool things down.
FYI K&N part number RC 4540 ally adaptor SHJ 70 both from Demon Tweeks.

Italian cars and their batteries! Just put a new one in my Alfa to fix the sat nav/esp failure issues and presto, good as new!
Thankfully my house in Berkshire is built in a flood defence area!
I had this problem too, tried cleaning the idle control valve, throttle body - no difference. Fitted a new idle control valve - no difference. So decided to live with it. Then the battery died - so fitted a new one, and guess what - the car now runs perfect!!!!! It appears that the idle control valve is voltage dependant so check your battery and connections.
Was it from a fully charged new battery or from the recet of the ECU?
My battery is not at her best condition (when i start the engine the cd player stops working and the antenna starts to move inside) but i dont have problems at idling,i know i am lucky !!
