I picked up a tip on one of the norwegian car forums; Eastwoods Extreme Diamond Clear were said to work well for protecting polished stuff. Haven't got any personal experience though.. According to the norwegian dealer, one bottle is enough for 4 wheels.

Yep, I saw that too earlier.. :D I thought that 100e is too much for me if you can do it by yourself, total costs somewhere near 10e-20e? (y)

Couple phone piccies, still a lot to do in enginebay..

see, the problem you have now is that it doesn't look good unless...
you sort out the rest off the head/cover, polish the heatshield, the inlets, the brakelines, etc and get chromed/stainless fluid containers, and paint the battery, and get a shiny sparco strutbrace....

and get uv-reactive hoses, and UV-cfls :)

Spot on!.. :D Yep, thinking of polishing couple other parts too, have to get some black&red, maybe silver paint too.. and you read my mind with that shiny strutbrace.. :D

new hoses are on "the list" and I have been searching those fluid containers but haven't find proper ones yet.. :(

And little cleaning wouldn't be bad idea, haven't really done yet.. Waiting for proper wheather.. ;)

Yesterday was "one of those days", I was driving in town I imagine that I heard knocking sound from front & back, little rubbing sound from back when turning right.. spotted couple tiny holes in soft top, screwed up one swirl from soft tops bracket, spotted little rust under spare wheel etc..

First time make me think what to h*ll I'm doing, allthought they are all pretty easy to fix.. :(

Hope there ain't anything bigger underneath b, have to go to MOT at the latest at 30.6.. Last time I checked underneath b I didn't spot anything unusual..

Well, don't really haveto guess what I will do at weekend..

Let's see how it turns out tomorrow.. Hope little better..

Yeah, I think everyone have had these momemts in some point or other..
Today drived to work and back, no knocking sound so far..
Have to check underneath b when I go to fix that softops bracket and those tiny holes.. :)

rubbing sound is located to passengers side rear tyre, have to check inner mudguard/wheel arches, thought it had crooked somehow.. Had similar problem in winter when snow got between couple pieces there..

Yesterday fitted soft top back to b, but it seems that rear sealings, (under the rear window etc) dont sit perfectly, is there anyway to adjust this? It seems that they dont sit tight enough to keep water away..

Didnt have time yesterday to work with it, so hardtop it is so far..

Btw, fast photoshopping and b's summer shoes are on the way.. Decide to go with those 17x7.5" Alessio Turbos what I mentioned somewhere earlier.. :)

Btw2, How wide tires have put to b? 205-215? and how much I dare to lower it with 17"?

More piccies when I get them.. ;)

if memory serves me well, then 205 tyres are almost impossible to find for 17x7.5 (read: expensive to find), as ideally you'll have to fit 205/40/17

With 215's you'ld have to go 215/35/17 or 215/40/17 , but there is a big chance of rubbing the arches, even wihtout lowering.
Ask the Doc, he's got 17" and i think he had to mod a bit.

for ideal wheel/tyre sizes, see http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalcold.html

in any case... you'll not be looking at cheap rubber for those rims..
expect +/- 100 UKP¨¨¨each

UPDATE: just been searching, it seems that on 17x7.5 you'll have to fit 215/40/17 ... (which is on the large side)

A Dunlop Sport MAXX in 215/35/17 is approx 135 UKP (each)
A Pirelli P Zero (Nero) in 215/40/17 is approx 125 UKP (each), but if you get 4 of them from kwikfit they go down to 93.75 UKP

Of course, you *could* go for something cheap and nasty...

Thanks for answear!.. (y)

Yeah, rims are secondhand stuff and there comes tyres with them, for front 205/40/17 and rear 215/40/17. I have been prepared for that they wont fit straight away, would guess that little modding would be needed. :)

Damn that was fast delivery, ordered those wheels at turshday and they turned up friday 10.32am.. :D

Yesterday fitted them to b, what comes to fitting, for front 205/40/17 with ET38/7.5" rim fits without modding, no rubbing so far.. (y)

But what comes to rear 215/40/17, drivers side = no rubbing, passengers side = continuing rubbing, I thought that ps side mud guard is bend somehow, have to check it out today.. :)

But I'm pretty sure that these wheels would fit without modding if everything would be all right..

And then, couple piccies, dirty b, dirty wheels  (sorry about dark piccies)

I will take better pics when I have time to wash b...

EDIT
No more rubbing.. (y)

I just realised that I don't have those spacers on rear what there should be?
Would give little more space to play.. Now there ain't really much space between tyre & mud guard on rear..
