After somebody pulling out into my path a couple of years ago and writing off my pride and joy I've been short of one Fiat Bravo...however I've been and picked myself up a replacement as of today in exactly the same colour and engine size but a mk2 instead.

It's a 1999 Bravo 115 HLX and my problem is that neither of the blue keys will talk to the car alarm system and so at the moment I'm having to lock and unlock the car manually :(

Anybody got any ideas as to what causes this?!

Thanks a lot for any help given!

I remember you from old. Welcome back :)

Nice to hear you've got another HLX. Given the age, it might be possible the remote features are dead. My 1997 HLX never worked properly so had to fit an aftermarket solution.

Daft question but are the batteries in the fob good?

Hi mate how's things?! I've checked the batteries in both fobs and had new ones put in to now avail...is there no other solution other than going the after market route?!!

Right...just tried this...

Bravo/Brava

1. Firstly obtain the 4 digit security code for the vehicle

2. Press the button (in the interior light assembly there is a button and an LED next to the alarm ultrasonics) for about a second and the LED will flash.

3. Release the button

4. After approx 5 seconds the LED will flash once

5. Enter the first digit of the security code using the button as above. Wait for about 5 seconds and the LED will flash once

6. Enter the second digit of the security code as above - if one of the digits is a zero, do not press the button at all and wait for the single flash requesting the next digit.

7. If all the numbers are entered correctly the LED will flash for 10 seconds

whilst the LED is flashing, press and hold the right hand button near the

interior light (used above)

8. The LED will continue to flash until you press a button of a remote - it will

then remain on.

9. Release button of remote and the one in the interior light.

The light went solid so I assumed it must of worked but no...it's still not locking the car and setting the alarm using the key fob!

What's happening here?

when i got my bravo 6 years ago one of the remotes didn't work. six years later i tried that and it worked but u have to type in the code first and then retype it to re-encode it. it unlocks the alarm to a new code. found it on a search on the alpha romeon site same alarm. can't remember the link cos i printed it out

retype it at which stage?! after the light has gone solid at the end and you release the buttons together or do you simply go throught the whole process again straight after?
