Im talking to bagriders and theyve asked some questions i know.
Ive had a search but have got confused...
If you can help id appreciate it. Questions are as follows....

Hey Jon,I will need the diameter of your strut towers at the most restrictive point, the overall length of the suspension currently on the car, the overall diameter of the rear spring, clearance around the rear springs (closest point to another object), the design of the rear lower spring perch/ lower control arm, the rear suspension design -- strut, or separate shock & spring. If you can also provide me with pictures of the suspension as well that would be greatly helpful!Cheers,Rali

You've missed the boat with that one - mines all back together again. Some of the pictures from the rear subframe refurb thread may help them. For the dimensions you're after, I'm in no better a position to provide those than you are. I've still got the old strut units outside waiting to go to the tip, so I can measure the free length of those if it helps.

The front spring O.D. is about 180mm. There's not a lot of spare space around the spring, so going more than about 5-10mm over this will be asking for trouble. Spring free length is 440mm.

The distance from the shoulder at the top of the strut plunger rod to the spring pan is about 290mm where the damper body meets the spring pan. Remember that the spring coil axis sits at an angle relaitve to the damper body (i.e. their axes are not only non-concentric but also angled relative to each other), so the 290mm reduces to around 270mm at the part of the spring pan that sits above the tyre. This picture may help:

The top bearing and turntable then covers up the top 30mm of the strut rod - that's about where the top of the spring is.The distance from the shoulder at the top of the strut plunger rod to the upper bolt hole in the bracket that fits to the wheel hub is around 470mm, but this is not easy to measure.

The strut installation is very snug and the space envelope (i.e. the void that the strut sits in) is quite complex. I would think that bagriders would need a Multipla 'in the flesh' to use as reference.

I haven't got any bits left from the rear suspension rebuild so giving dimensions for that is not so easy.
