Hi, having just joined, is there anyone local to the highlands with classic 500, and if so maybe a repairs specialist they could recommend? I’m a few miles east of Inverness …. Thanks

After long delay, my original electrical issues seem to be fixed 
, just for the record and in case ever relevant. The indicator dashboard light permanently on was fixed with a new flasher unit (above fuel tank) and the horn - related current drain seems to be gone by re-seating the horn connections. The ring connection uses a rubber washer which was likely the problem (I assume it’s supposed to be a complete circle but it isn’t, so I guess ought to be replaced at some point.
Now (well, soon) onwards to check out the carburetor problem. One day it will all be fine
