General Anyone had the same problems?

Hello to everyone - excellent site!
Sorry to be a bit of a downer on my first thread but I am really interested to see if anyone has had the same problems as I have had with their multipla.
I bought it new 3 and a half years ago - an Eleganza diesel. No problems for the first 2 years and then it suddenly got a constant knocking noise. It was still under warrenty but it took the Fiat dealer 12 months to find the problem (link rods in the front suspension - my chassis number is ZFA 18600 02250194 and so was not one of the multipla's recalled).
I wanted assurances that the noise was fixed and I was told by Fiat UK that it would NOT come back. When I asked for this in writing - they refused to give it to me - LOL.
Of course 9 months later the same knocking noise is back. The Fiat dealer 'believes' it's the link rods again.........but can't be sure (liar). The car is out of warrenty, Fiat UK refuses to pay, the dealer won't fix anything unless he is paid and I'm stuck with a knocking car (which has only done 37000 miles).
Anyone had similar problems? Could someone please offer some advice to me on how best to solve my problem as it's driving me up the wall. I don't see why I should pay for something which is clearly a problem with Fiat Multiplas.

Anti roll bar drop links and anti roll bar bushes are common and unfortunatly seem to be made from cheese.

If your Fiat dealer cant tell you what is wrong go to a new garage as the roll bar link rods and bottom arm rubbers are easy to diagnose you can feel the play and see whats gone I have also seen roll bar rubber bushes gone. wont help with bill but link rods and lower arms are common on these. Sorry.
If it is the link rods why are they not being changed under parts warranty as they should have 12 months on them
