General anyone bought a new rear brake piston?

hey,

long story short i've had to order a new brake piston for a sticky caliper, the old one has the screw on the inside of it that goes into the caliper to turn, the one i bought doesn't have the screw, the parts place i ordered it from insist the screw comes off the old one to be fitted to the new one, i really can't see how that would work and don't want to take the old one off to find out as it could potentially put the car off the road all week whilst i sort another piston.

anyone know what's going on? i'd have thought a new piston would include the screw and, sounds a bit strange!

can't you just pump it out, and wind the new one in..??

should be a mornings work..,

already done it once, tried it again but it's deeply pitted and still binding.

don't want to take it off again to try and clean it up for it to bind again, not worth my time
