Another "what car to get next" question

"Matt, for 7k of my hard earned i dont think its too much to ask to be picky, whats getting over myself got to do with anything, were not here to judge, dont forget were typing onto a screen, anyone can act the big man, not naming any names though"

Hang about, you basically insulted me up there and you're telling me not to judge?? - you should listen to your own advise pal.

I think you misunderstood what I was getting at, yes be picky but you're looking for more than you can afford and shooting down suggestions...you were too picky.

out of curiosity how much was your quote for the 147?

if its through confused or some other internet site then i wouldnt count on them being exact. i was quoted around 1500 for my 156 on confused, turned out to be quite a substantial amount more. also if the car is over £6k then most insurers will only entertain fully comp.

another thing these alfa's are prety high maintenance and arent cheap to service etc.

over 6k i'm pretty sure with all insurers has to be fully comp

yea has been my dream and still is, its either that or depending if i can save a bit more when it comes to it a z4, only about 3 or 4 k more, gotta wait about a year though :(

both of you matt and ryan stop fighting like girls :p lol its true what ryan says, he's saved up that money he can be picky and if he's willing to wait and wade through alot of cars find exactly what he wants, but at the same time matt is right that it will be hard, but not impossible to find something like the spec you want, at the end of the day your asking for it so theres no need for people to be saying "you'll never get that"

your just gonna have to stick it out and wait to see what you get for your car, even though its only a 1.4 it should sell for quite a bit cos so much has been put into it, not like when someone sticks some splitters on and asks for 2 - 3k, hopefully someone will be looking for a shell to drop a to coupe engine in

i think for what your looking for perhaps go onto www.parkers.co.uk and click on reviews, go through that cos it gives you loads of cars, specs, reviews, and used prices

ryan good economy from an alfa 147 2.0 twin spark

haha you make me laugh :)

lol, im talking in comparison to my bravo!
With the added weight, the economy is even worse that it should be!
i'd class a hummer as good economy compared (joke).

You are right on the reliability tho green, and the costs of the service, that is one of the down falls of them i suppose!

And again you are right about the fully comp over 6k, it was with confused i tried it, but i havent really shopped around as much, the insurance for one of them was the same as what im paying on my bravo now all mods declared!

how about a nissan 200sx s14a you can pick up a good spec'd 2001 is model for about 6k and insurance is only group 15 :)

you wont find a decent rx8 for 7grand mate when i was looking at them the cheapest i found was 9grand and it was the crappy 190 model whats dead basic inside, the one i was buying was the 231 model with the leather and satnav and boes stereo and the was 13000 lol it would be nice though i love that car. still upset i never baught it.

i wud have snatched it up like that mate its ma FAVORITE LOL :) i WILL own 1 one day lol n yeh ur ryt actually 7k is bit low

it was the cost of running it and the fact i couldnt get finance on it and didnt want to spend my savings on it, av you driven one?
i can honestly say ive neva driven a car like it, it just revs and revs and the speed is amazing it gets to 6000rpm and its like a turbo kicks in.

i didnt want to take it back on the test drive lol

no m8 i havent im only 19 so they want let me test drive one :(. but my mums friend has one and ive trying to convince her to let me have a go (not working) :)

i put a comprehensive response on here yesterday, suggesting mx5, smart roadster or mr2, with related mpg and 0-60s and its gone! where?

anyway, you may not even have considered a roadster since you were asking for power, but the above all have sub 10 second 0-60 times, the toyota i think was 7.5 where the others were 9.5. The smart however gets over 50mpg where the others iirc are 38

I think i'd take the brabus smart roadster on an 04 plate at 7k and second choice perhaps the MR2. i like em all though they each have different merits

you wnt the toms edition mate its got a completely different chassis that is tweaked to the nines and sport suspension and light weight wheels and the engine produces a tad more power but it cmes to the wheels better.

here check this out mate.
