Hello,
I bought i wiring kit off the internet but when i got it i released it was for a 2 channel amp but i'm thinking of getting a 4 channel amp what extra bits do i need or am i better sending it back and getting a 4 channel amp kit?

Thanks matt

What Gauge is it, does it say. If it is 8 gauge or above you should only need 1 more RCA cable as normally 4 channel amps need 2 sets to work

It doesn't say what gauge it is
Do i need to buy another kit? or is there any chance i could pick up 1 RCA cable from halfords or a small audio centre?

EDIT: found the same kit on another site, its 10 gauge

You can buy RCA leads from a lot of places. Just remember that the more you pay the better the quality.
If i were you i would get at least an 8 gauge wiring kit or even better a 4 gauge one is only £20

Will the unpper link (4gauge) work with a 4 channel amp?
Do you get instuctions with the kit or the amp on how to fit it all ?

Well it depends on what gauge wire your amp requires. You may have to use a distribution block. But by running 4 gauge if at some point in the future you decide to add a bigger or a second amp then you wont have to upgrade the wiring.

As for wiring the longest thickest one will be power. This go's from battery + to +on the amp.

The other shorter thick wire will be ground. Rub down a small patch of paint back to the metal in the spare wheel bay. Drill a hole and bolt the cable to there. This then go's to - on the amp.

Your RCA's will plug into the back of the HU. then run to the Amp. Remember to never plug these in your amp unless the amp is earthed.

Then the (small blue) remote wire will connect too the remote on your HU. This will normalyy be the blue wire that has a free end (ie only connected to one side of the wiring harness) Then to the rem on your amp.
