Hey all,
the alternator on my 'sport-ting 16v is getting moody again,
3rd one up too now, 'these bought off breakers on ebay,

ive found a 'brandnew one,but mine is 60-amp, this one ive seen is 70amp.
wouid it do any harm fitting this?
ideas,

the one fitted on mine atm,is getting noisey..like a dry bearing, again' :(

If it will physically fit, all mountings in same place, connectors the same, etc., then go for it. Whilst it is capable of providing more power, it will only put out what is asked of it.
Check alignment of pulley, and pulley diameter, may need to swap pulleys.

i would want to know why you keep eating alternators
do you know your own strength when pulling them back and nipping the bolts up:D

cheers.

ive fitted them correctly,
not sure why but ive had no luck with 2nd hand alternators, :(

only thing ican think of is the breakers ibought them off have had them on shelf for along while,
iwill get a brandnew one this time 120 notes, :bang:

afew companys just over a grand,

secound hand one will have to do,

these are companies who run permanent ads for certain parts, when they go out of stock they change the price to stop people buying till they come back in stock, that way they don't have to end and start a new ad with all the costs that go with it, changing the price can be done any time
