Alternative to shaving?

Alternative to shaving?

Girlfriend does all this girlie type stuff. Just got home from another electrolsis course

She says it is possible to wax a man's chin but unless you only have boyish bum fluff, it's not going to be the most pleasant experiance of your life.

For effective results, the hair needs to be at least 5 or 6mm long before waxing. The hair folicules in a man's chin grip the hair tighter than leg, arm, genital hair etc. and there could be bleeding. Also, if the correct equipment isn't used, it could tear the skin causing further bleeding. She refuses to do it because of the likelyhood of problems.

Don't forget to let us all know how you get on with it Ben. ;)
Hmm... well I do wanna try... but I don't want complications.

When I use the tweezers, you get some really fat hairs out sometimes, which yes, do cause a bit of bleeding. But I'm used to that now, so it's ok! I was just doing my top lip (but my nose) and that had some really chunky ones in it.

But face so soft now :) Better than any shave could ever be ...

I shall keep thinking .... :chin:

You do realise that with an electric you have to cut long hair with the little beard trimmer thing that comes out the back to make it short enough first. :bang:

I used to get a hair remover cream for my ex husband who would sometimes get razor bumps. It was for black men and the only place I could get it was a small independent shop that sold afro hair products but it worked great. Sometimes afro products also have a European version too so if you happen to be passing a market stall or Afro supplies shop it may be worth asking, it might even be ok for white skin, you may just have to leave it on for less time. I have used afro hair relaxer with no issues and my hair is european. I would buy the hair remover for my sons if they needed it and they are very fair skinned mixed race.

Well the place I went to wouldn't do it - or at least I think that's what they were saying, as they didn't speak any english :)

I don't know about afro products here though - I think I've only seen about 3 black people in the 7 months I've been here!

LOL, Ill see if I can find it online.

Great! Thanks. The comments on it though seem to insinuate you have to use it every couple of days?

I havent had any experience in shaving my face thankfully lol, but I guess that depends on how quickly your beard grows? If you are certain that you never want a beard again maybe you could get laser treatment to get rid of it for good? Plucking it out sounds like torture!

Could try the blowtorch method.
