Some time late november I will be swapping my wheels to the steelies for the mild winter, I was given the original bolts to put these on as the car came with turbine alloys.

Flicking through the owners manual this evening for no apparent reason other than because I can*, it states in there to keep the original bolts and spare wheel in case they are ever refitted to the car... I know the bolts for the steelies are a different length to those for the alloys [yet I never keep four in the car in case of a puncture!] This thread is really for those who have changed their wheels, do you know that the bolts for your new alloys fit the space saver?

Or is it just the difference between the steel and alloy wheels?

*well, checking up on the boot rack to no avail

Point taken about the foam stuff, but that's no good for when the tyre is shredded and yes thats where the breakdown recovery is needed.

However, that foam stuff means that the tyre cannot be repaired as the foam stops any sealant from working - some people want to repair a tyre if possible and not pay out for a new one. Personally, I'd get a new one.

I guess you will have to be the guinea pig Zem and let us all know if they are interchangable between the two types of wheel:D
