General air induction on 1.6

i would like somebody to tell me why my 1.6 does not have this induction 'unit; above the radiator sucking air from the grill?

That's behind the headlight... Yours is positioned above the radiator?

Like my old setup on my old car? I had to have a heatshield to deflect the heat and a cut funnel to force air in at it. Not great, looking back


There's other ways to position a filter for max airflow

Not the easiest to setup...

hey dan, i took the rad cover off as it was cracked when i purchased it, i felt no need for it as its the worst design for airflow, the orignal airfilter thats in there, will have a great amount of air getting to it..
but if your worried about any muc or dirt getting on rad without the cover im sure some scrap yards might have some
