Not much help to you with this problem, but I was interested to see your speedometer graduation markings. Most noticeably there is no 30mph marked. The new Skoda I'm soon to take delivery of has a speedo marked like this, which surprised me. I'll probably bring up the digital display on the screen between the speedo and rev counter, for daily driving, which will be mildly annoying as I like to use that screen to monitor coolant temp most of the time occasionally bringing up oil temperature if climbing a long hill - for instance ascending Shap on the M6.
