I have had the tyre pressure unavailable message. I keep reseting it but it is annoying. Tyre pressure is ok, the suggestion so far is new tpms sensor. There seem to be 2 types, 1 in the wheel and one external. When I look using my number plate it shows both variations. Anybody else had this?
Thanks
Sarah

If tyre pressure is not dropping it's likely they are in-tyre type (direct TPMS which meaure actual pressure in each tyre), the indirect type work out deflation by measuring wheel RPM which will change ever so slightly if pressure drops.

They have a life span of 3-5 years (depends on the battery lifetime) ... and it's an MOT fail if not sorted.
It's an expensive PITA on modern cars of the last ten years or so.

Usually the batteries are non-replaceable (I know right :cautious:)

But don't be conned into having them coded into the car (at extra cost) , the car will effectively self learn that a new sensor is present after a short interval after replacing.
Also don't make the mistake of carrying the old ones in the car at the same time lol (as the car will get mightily confused that there's more than 4 in proximity) , just get rid.
