General A Missing Air Filter. Owners Beware

I took the B for a annual MOT this morning, it passed, but whilst the Tester was beneath the car it was pointed out the airfilter element and cover is missing, gone. I can only assume the central nut and cover of the casing, vibrated loose and gravity took them away. From above all appeared OK, I never knew it had disappeared. I bet I notice the change of engine note when I do get replacements though.
So that is yet more bits I need, a cover and nut. It'd pay owners to ensure the nut stays tight !!! I've no idea how long I've been careering around without it and sucking up unfiltered air.
On another parts issue I fitted a Maplin toggle switch to the rear fog light wiring as a temp cure just to legalise and pass the MOT. DTR had a 'run' on them recently suggesting the o/e switch is a touch fragile but I'll get the 'real' thing soonish.

I now know why my air filter element & lid disappeared the centre stem thread in the plastic housing is cracked. O Cobblers. I need another large housing & lid. So if anyone knows of the whereabouts of a replacement std air filter housing For Sale, I'm your man.
I do appreciate the advice of The Doc but my use and approach to B ownership is at a tangent, each to their own. A near std B suits me. My B (like LRB himself allegedly) is a tad under used, sits at home, aging a bit, wants touching up in places, gets wet & dirty often, fun topless, drinks only in moderation 35mpg, squeals, has small faded red bits and a leathery seat, admired & over taxed.
A hint of any more speed is not really needed, too many cameras & 'speed' humps here. Plus on long journeys (1250 odd miles a go) The extra induction noise just might become intrusive.

Thanks for the heads up on the air canister With the way things are going there will be loads of those spare as everyone seems to be going induction kit. But if I had the choice I know where I would be looking to get it from, probably the person who does nothing else but look after his Barchetta
