Re: 999cc "fire" turbo kit . who´s interested?

What I meant was, Nigel (@ Angel Tunning) has a lot of experience with ECUs. I'm convinced anything can be done if you spend enough money, so maybe something can be bought to do. Equally, a new ECU unit would work?

Re: 999cc "fire" turbo kit . who´s interested?

As i've told others before if i find the address codes i will release them to others if someone gives them to me then i'll keep them a secret;) .

btw, what make is the mk2 ecu?

my only interest right now is the punto 75 ecu:D , when i get my turbo 1242 mpi working then i may look at other ecus:rolleyes: to hel me complete the other kits.

Re: 999cc "fire" turbo kit . who´s interested?

On mine there is written magneti marelli (sp) but others claim it is hitachi. Mine seems different cause it doesn't even have a cam sensor!

hitachi is the chip inside the ecu, magneti marelli is the manufacturer of the ecu. This is what i have found so far so correct meif i'm wrong here:eek: . The punto 1.2 uses the IAW 8F.5T ecu afaik.

Re: 999cc "fire" turbo kit . who´s interested?

Nope, you are 100% correct. I will check on the number cause I do not recall 8F.5T

I checked my ecu, it has written IAW 59F if it's of any help. If you want I can try to remove it completely and see if there is else written.

Re: 999cc "fire" turbo kit . who´s interested?

As i said i'm not sure but i do know some punto 75 ecus were IAW 8F.5IT, these are modifiable with pc software for sure since they are also used on alphas ans volvo cars.

I want to tune the stock ecu to cope with boost on my engine to drop the cost on the kits.

Re: 999cc "fire" turbo kit . who´s interested?

Oh, I understand cause I know standalone ecu's are way too expensive (except megasquirt, but I am still shakey on it).

If you need anymore information were I can help just send pm.

Cheers, hope that one day I too will be able to put a turbo on my mk2 8v.

The megasquirt is great for it's design purpose and rivals ecus costing thousands more, it WAS limited to fuel which caused a slight drawback but now it does provide ignition. The only problem i find is that you must assemble it yourself which some people can't cope with;) . I had this ecu on the 999cc fire turbo mpi and it worked great, it did produce 168hp on it's last run (it still ran on 3 cylinders:eek: ).

We'll see how cheap i can make the price on my kits, maybe it may be cheap enough for you:D .

i'm interested too- I have a fiat 127 (903cc) and a 900e (903cc) and I was looking to replace the engine and gearbox's in both of them (little bit different in the 900e) and tune up two 999fire units...two turbo'd fire engines would be super.

It won't be a straight swap, you'll have to use the engine mounts from the original car to bolt the fire engine in;)

Re: 999cc "fire" turbo kit . who´s interested?

If it'd fit 1108/1242 and the prices are right, im interested - and also happy to sign thigns that say if i blow the car up - it wasn't you're fault :D

there is more to it in the 900e - the engine is mounted longways and i'll need to chop body panels out and redesign the rear suspension - 127 shouldn't be too bad, it's basically a panda...i'll get a fire engine in the 127 before i start turbo'ing...

Re: 999cc "fire" turbo kit . who´s interested?

Problem is what do you consider "right price", the turbo seems to be my barrier since i would have to pay the full price plus shipping and our new 21%tax (government should be flushed to h*ll:mad: ) and then shipping back to people with the kits, this alone would increase the price considerably. Some people have mentioned selling turboless kits and then you guys get turbos for £400 plus shipping, but i haven't heard of a turbo kit without a turbo:confused: .

If i classify it as experimental i'm not liable for any problems caused to peoples engines, it has worked so far if the instructions are followed, problem is people allways want more power(y)

I have that engine, except just a standard 45 horser...

Its alright, Its in my fiat uno at the moment.. Would be awesome to have a turbo except the costs, **** I live in NZ and it would cost heaps to post.

Re: 999cc "fire" turbo kit . who´s interested?

I don't mind having to source a turbo for myself, its just 100% what to do with it - and the other bits and pieces i'd need that could be a problem

Re: 999cc "fire" turbo kit . who´s interested?

so it will fit a 1992 uno 1.0 fire model and how much would it cost for the lot because i am seriously thinking about getting it done just want to know if you can do it because i will pay the money and would any more moifications need to be made when i have fitted the turbo and manifold
