Re: 999cc "fire" turbo kit . who´s interested?

Yeah..same on the Cinq with that engine

Looads a' room.
Could park a bus in there..If VanAaken can do it...Im sure yu can!!

Re: 999cc "fire" turbo kit . who´s interested?

Testing is on a 75SX would be good, as that's MPI so has a multiple injectors on the fuel rail as opposed to the single one on the SPI engines. Mind you, you'd need to uprate the fuel pump before doing anything else first :)

Re: 999cc "fire" turbo kit . who´s interested?

lol theres that much room my little 8yr old brother first thing he said when he saw the engine was "Weres that bit of your engine gone". Im all up for this turbo thing but i dont really want to change much on the car like clutch etc which is why i dont want to much power out of it just 40bhp would be great using low boost. Hopefully no clutch slip and detonation.

Re: 999cc "fire" turbo kit . who´s interested?

I honestly never expected this much interest, i guess i´ll give it a shot. I´ll try finding a way around the ecu reprogram to make life easier:) . I´ll pe posting results on research soon;) . meanwhile keep the ideas coming:D

Re: 999cc "fire" turbo kit . who´s interested?

I said i would post when i had new info, this site has been online for a few months but this is the "official" announcement.

http://smokeme.coconia.net/index.htm

The site is not complete but contains most of the info necessary for anyone to begin a similar project(s). The cheapest conversion was around 500euros and produces about 75hp, the most expensive part was the turbo at 400euros.
If there is any info you think should also be listed please ask.:D

Re: 999cc "fire" turbo kit . who´s interested?

I've been around all along, only haven't been making any replies.:D

If anyone is interested in data for other engines please ask and i'll see what i can do. I'm attempting to make my site into the ultimate turbo fire source.

I just read this whole thread.

Probably too late, but Angel Tunning (owner is member on here and other sites) can most likely do the ECU stuff.

Great idea though. I'd live my Uno to be turbo for about 400 euros or so. Just someone would have to do the work for me, and I hope all other parts (gearbox, clutch, suspension) doesn't then need uprating too.

If you can find a cheap turbo then the conversion in itself is cheap, since the turbo is the most expensive part. The work to install the kit is really easy and with my low boost version it can be done with the engine in the car (it would be easier with it removed and placed on a stand). The low boost version should not be reliable to produce over 100hp, there are people trying though!!(y) A friend (girl) of mine actually intalled a "test kit" all by herself so we could write an instruction manual, her time was 6 hours with the engine in car, this did not include tuning the fuel setup which has not been perfected yet.(the main reason i'm still holding back, apart from the liabilities obviously);)

Keep in mind that i WILL offer complete kits (with turbo and without) but they will be offered as experimental so i will not be responsable if you crank up the boost and melt your engine:bang:

I have just read this whole thread,i am very impressed by your work :D I can't afford to get this done yet, but if i keep my cinq long enough then i will (y)

We are all allowed to dream!! I'm still dreaming of a 200hp Panda:D even though it may soon be a reality!!

Sorry if I am late.

About the mk2 8v turbo, the problem is, as I was told, is that the ecu will not setup the ignition timing correctly so if you can find a way around that (maybe tricking the ecu in thinking there is no turbo) maybe the knock sensor will work and setup the timing as it needs to be.

It can be done with a remap, i may be able to do it but will not SELL any chips (though i may exchage them for other goodies:) ), first i have to figure out the address code for these engines:mad: . The knock sensor will not prevent you from destroying your engine, it will only retard the timming enough to save you from using premium fuel under normal conditions since that is it's purpose to check the octane you run and adjust the ecu to compensate;)

Will not work at 70% or more throttle as ECU ignores all sensors.

Remapping of 8v is not being done yet as nobody cracked the Hitachi ECU.

What if you use a clamping circuit to trick the ecu that the throttle max is at 69%? (Just a thought)

So somebody like me who almost drives at WOT everytime it means that it is just following internal maps and nothing else? :(

Is that the mk1 or mk2? i have hex dumps off both eproms, it's just a matter of getting the address codes correct and i'm in:D ,i'm aware that the mk2 seems impossible because the tables are not separated like other ecu binaries so it's one huge chunk of code and a bigger pain to decipher the address:mad:  .

If anyone knows someone that can remap i'll appreciate some help, no i'll not share what i've got  someone has already ripped me off on the original fuelling maps for the punto 75:bang: , anyone know if the punto 75 can be remapped?;)

Re: 999cc "fire" turbo kit . who´s interested?

Man, that is horrible, I hate it when ppl steal work and research.

oldschool was talking about the mk2, that ecu needs to be trashed.

What engine does that ecu fit, and why is it trash?

Sorry i forgot about this tread:eek:

Re: 999cc "fire" turbo kit . who´s interested?

The engine is the mk2 1.2 8v, even though it is the same as the mk1 55 the ecu and sensors are different. Till now nobody managed to reprogam the ecu that is why I said it should be trashed.

If you manage to successfully remap/reprogram the MK2 8v ecu this will be grand!

EDIT: No, angel tuning cannot remap the MK2 8v ecu, check it out, they only can do the MK2 16v, which is totally different.
