Hello i have issue with my Ducato when i try to press accelerate pedal is idling from 800rpms-1000rpms and smoking from bonnet.
Engine starts normally.
Today i just realize that when i take off coolant temperature sensor everything is starting to work fine.
When i disconnect and plug back sensor its working for 3-4 starts.
Happens when engine is heat up and sometimes when cold.

Hi

A raised idle speed can be a sign that the ECU has detected that the battery voltage is too low. It raises the idle speed to increase the charge rate, and the "battery" warning light will show. Do you have this warning light ? Possibilities are a faulty alternator, a battery nearing the end of its life or a bad connection in the charging circuit, including the gearbox to body earth strap.

Smoking is a worrying sign - can you see where it is coming from ?

I will don’t say this is rising idling but when I press gas after starting engine is only moving in that range from 800 to 1k and is smoking disconnecting temperature sensor only helps.

Edit. Smoke is coming from flex pipe(previous owner change it) probably because engine don’t have enough speed to drop it through end of exhaust.
