Technical 100hp tyres deflating...help!

Having recently fitted some UNIROYAL Rainsport 3s to my Panda 100hp the front two tyres are deflating over night.

The standard 100hp tyre size is 195/45 R15 however after some recommendations from people on here I got the 195/50 R15's fitted as they help soften the ride.

Could it be this causing the issue?

Go back to where you had them fitted. They probably didn't clean the wheel rim properly or apply sealant.

Or they didn't install new valves or installed them wrong.
I run 195/50's wthout issues.

Widths are the same just a few mm difference in side wall height makes no difference to the fitment.

If the original tires weren't going down then the problem it with the fitment or tires.

Suspect it will be leaking around the rim if they are new tires.


You could add drop of detergent to water and spray it on your tyres and the leaks will start bubbling. At the end of the day you will still be taking it back to be refitted. So probably not worth the effort.




After having new tyres fitted it worth taking the car for a sort drive around town to help the tyre beads seat properly.



Worth checking your speedometer at 70 mph against GPS. Doubt it will be out but increasing the tyre height will make the Speedo read lower but only a very small percentage.

Thank you everyone for your help! I’ll take it to a local place and get them to have a look and sort it out.

Thanks koalas It was about a 6 mile town drive back from the place that I got them fitted and indeed the speedo is now deadly accurate instead of the few% it was out before.

Speedos are always designed to over read by around 3 to 5% (helps at keeping to limits) but cannot under read by law.

It is worth spraying with strong deterrent as you can prove its the rim or the valve. But either way the tyre fitters should have checked the wheels in a water tank.

Rare these days of target though.

Was watching a budget company last year and they were only balancing the front wheels.

I forgot to update this thread.

I first went to kwikfit who checked for punctures after me telling them that that was unlikely then said they couldn't find anything and that they could refit the tyres but it would be at least £40 each.....WTF

I got a local tyre place to take a look at them and there was a small leak on the inside of the rimapparently caused by some dirt, they re-fitted the two front tyres and £30 (less than the price of 1 at kwikfit) later I was on my way. All fixed.

And the moral of the story is...
Never go to Kwikfit for anything!

Definitely would be the last place I'd go. I was in once with a friend prior to even having a car of my own and I watched as they were putting fear into a young girl about things they said were about to fail on her car to get extra money out of her. Yes there was a bit of rust here and there but it looked more like surface rust to me. Wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them!
