Off Topic 100HP Section Please - Moderators

I don't see why there has to be a split -- although I'm more active in the Classic Panda and Mk2 Punto sections. However, in both of these, there are continuums (if that's a real word) of people from those who just want to keep their cars on the road to those who want to create something unique -- as there is here. And we all get along fine and dandy.

I've really enjoyed Demi's saga -- which I would never have found, if it were in a separate section -- and which is inspirational to any car owner: just more so, if you own a FIAT; and even more so if you own a Mk3 Panda -- regardless of engine size. I understand the more extremes of the continuum maybe wanting to split -- but think (and this applies to all sections) that the mix is better.... :)

Well like I said the guy said he likes his car and loves his exhaust. Even if I did phrase it correctly what would be the point? You are just sharing your opinion just for the sake of sharing your opinion. Like I said if I see a post with a title I know I have no interest in I wont read it. In the past I could have read so many posts on this forum about people fitting Abarth badges to non Abarths. I could have posted on each and every post that the Fiat badges shouldnt be removed. Yet what would I gain from this, lots of people know my standpoint and even more dont care and why would they? On a 100HP only forum you would be welcome and free to express your opinion. My point is to separate the 100HP posts from the standard Panda posts because at the moment the section is just all 100HP.

For example lets take the young lad with 100HP and Abarth 500 exhaust. Personally I hate it I think it looks ridiculous. But why would I post my opinion on that, what would I achieve?
err, you just did....
The kid clearly loves his exhaust so why not leave him be and say nothing? Im not going to change his mind (and why would I want too?) and im not going to get any personal gain from it. If he had asked people's opinion on it I would tell him it looks ridiculous but wouldnt have a personal pop at him. Like my old mother used to tell me,if you dont have anything decent to say, dont say anything at all.
And there ya go again.:D.. you sir, are what is classed as the type who 'think they are too subtle to be noticed when trolling'

I wish you had followed your old mothers advise, or, just grow a pair for criz sake...(y)

Trolling by proxy...... theres a lot of it about...

Well I dont always agree with you either Demi. In the post about the lad removing his number plate I dont agree with just minding your own business. If somebody is breaking the law its everybody's business. Also if somebody asks what people think of their car I will be honest. Although I do agree with you that having a personal pop at somebody isnt called for.

I wouldnt want you to agree with me on every thing. Thats how ppl improve themselves. And I never said to mind your own business either. To the guys with number plate, I said that he might get pulled and get fined. I would expect others to say something too but never "an idiot or a plonker" that to me isnt helping the OP. Nothing wrong about being honest but some forget that they are talking about other people pride and joy so slagging off in that case will upset the owners, with that I disagree. Like you if I dont like something, I just say it isnt my cup of tea and leave it at that. No point going into details and hurt owners feelings.

Oh I have a pair alright Cap,its a shame you live in Portugal and cant attend a Midlands meet because I would like you to accuse me of that to my face.;)

Now I'm not advocating this idea, but surely it would be better to have a general performance modification and cosmetic modification section rather than a 100hp section. At least then the 'modders' will be talking to like minds.

And if you're interested in what mods can be done to your Panda 1.1 Active Eco, there's nothing to stop you from reading it...! :)

And that's your choice. Discussion is the whole point of these forums. Yes it does seem to be ver 100hp related at the moment but there have been loads of Abarth threads in the 500 section but it always returns to a more normal mix.

Well this has sparked a conversation!

I understand that some may want it to remain under the Panda banner but I agree that if you join the Panda section and find nothing but 100hp threads it might stop you from posting. This was a problem on another forum where the Punto GT was the main vehicle with regards to posts and Sporting owners etc felt a bit out on a limb.

It's not my intention to alienate 100hp owners

I've got a 100hp, and don't feel it needs a separate section. Half the threads with 100hp in the title over the last few months are about general panda problems anyway, and it's not different enough as a model as it is.

This issue, as it always has been on ff, is people giving their opinions as facts, and getting worked up about others posts.

If you're not interested in a thread, don't read it. If you don't like a post, or poster, just ignore it/them.

Like I said though, at the moment there are a few 100hp threads but the balance will go back in the future. Sometimes it seems like there's nothing but diesel or twinair or Abarth posts in the 500 section but it always swings back to neutral :)

I for one most certainly do not want a specific 100HP section. I don't see why everyone who has been using the Panda section of the forum for ages, without issue, should be subjected to different sections for different mk3 Panda versions just because a couple of users can't get along in a civil manner. The 100HP has been around since 2006, why does it suddenly need its own forum section 8 years later?

I have my opinions on what I like and what I don't and I don't see any reason why I can't express those opinions in a civil manner. The world isn't all sunshine and roses, if all I'm allowed to say is that every Panda and everything done to every Panda is fantastic, then I for one shall no longer be participating in discussions which occur on the FF.

As for being ridiculed for pointing out the illegality of people's modifications, that was one of the most ridiculous things I've ever experienced on any forum, car related or otherwise. The law's the law, there's no opinion about it, especially in cold, hard statutory form.

/Rant
