hello every body bought my car today, and was told about this website and wondered if any body has any insight on how to put a baileys dump valve to replacew the wastegate i need help!!

A dump valve doesn't replace the wastegate mate they are at different ends of the engine! ;) A dump valve won't give you any more power either as all it does is release excess gas from the inlet manifold! It probably wouldn't work as you need to run a higher boost for them to make any noise. I would try a remap/chip first then if that's not enough try a new exhaust downpipe/manifold & uprated actuator/bleed valve! (y)

Also the JTD doesnt have a waste gate either.

And how do you suppose the excess pressure or 'waste' pressure is vented then ?

I take it the JTD has the Garrett GT 15 then the same as the td engines, and the internal wastegate has confused you.

The Bravo JTD I had been looking at had had a reconditioned turbo due to a "sticky wastegate"

The 115Jtd fitted to the Stilo, has no wastegate, it is a variable geometry turbo charger, this means there are two sets of vanes, one on the impeller and another set which can rotate around them around 15 degrees. The turbo pressure is controlled by the efi ecu which controls a solenoid, that supplies vacuum to the turbo outer vanes. The signal to the turbo control solenoid is a pulsed width signal so that instead of fully on or fully off, complete control of the turbo geometry can be achieved.
Sorry also should have mentioned the turbo over pressure is controlled by the control solenoid, and if the turbo pressure gets too high and is not controllable by the solenoid (eg in the event of a solenoid failure) the efi system goes into fail safe limiting engine torque to 40% by cutting the fuel supply.

What model is this turbo ?

And is it on all JTD's or just the Stilo ?

Or just the latest 20v JTD's ?

 All Stilo 115 JTD's have variable geometry turbo's, from day they were launched......makes turbo cut in sooner to eliminate 'turbo lag' at low revs.

If the turbo is controlled via pressure then its usually a fixed geometry turbo, these are put into the lower power versions normally. If the turbo is controlled via vacuum then this is a variable geometry turbo. Alot of the time the low power versions are not brought into the uk so we dont see them often.
