Technical 1.1 head onto 1.2 engine

Simple question - will a 1.1 8v head fit onto a 1.2 8v block and work if we change the cam over?? thanks

Should do, Someone Correct if im wrong but the mk1's 1.1 & 1.2's have same blocks just different ECU's?

so what is the difference between the 1.1 and the 1.2 ? they both look practically the same is there and easy way of making a 1.1 into a 1.2 ?

1.1 has a 70mm bore
1.2 has a 70.8mm bore

so you can use the 1.1 head and even keep the cam in it to save re shimming. but you must use a 1.2 head gasket

Otherwise you have a gasket with a bore bigger than the cylinders.
