Good morning people of the board!

I'm a very recently new Stilo owner! So new infact I pick it up tomorrow!

Its an 02 16v 1.6 with pamoramic roof. I will post pictures if any one is interested when I pick it up tomorrow.

The forum looks really friendly so I'm looking forward to becomming a part of the Stilo family.

Just to kick start things off though, I have two questions,

A) what does JTD mean?
B) What spoiler is this?

I read through all 11 pages on the styling forum and found most if not all the information I need about painting Calipers and dails [which im leaving  ]
However, Im a bit of a thundercat nut and was considering a window decal to take up the back window of the thunder cat logo. Can you get window tints with images on? So the image is visiable from the outside but looks clear from the inside? Never mind if not, just a thought.

Hope I'm not going to become too much of a pain to you guys. Your cars all looks fantastic and I hope that my Stilo can live up to looking the same!

John

Welcome aboard.

I'm afraid I can't answer any of your questions though :(

Welcome

JTD stands for 'Jet Turbo Diesel' which is Fiats nomenclature for their 'common-rail high pressure' Turbo Diesel models.

In the old days they were refered to as TDI's, but as VAG (Volkswagen Audi Group; VW, Audi, Skoda, Seat, Bugatti, Bentley, Lamborghini) own the 'TDI' monker, nobody else can use it.

You'll be safe in the Stilo section, but if you want to avoid the 'Chav' element, stay away from the Punto section ;)

JTD - isn't that Jet Turbo Diesel? With M-JTD being Multi-jet?!

that sounds about right... but Jet isn't italian... (Turbo Diesel is)

There are people in the Punto section who have LIME GREEN PUNTO's.... LIME GREEN.. and they wear burberry hats... what is the world coming to.

Just got this off a tiscali review:

Oddly enough the Italian language has no words of its own that begin with the letter J, so what the J, as in Brava JTD, stands for is anybodys guess. The TD bit is Turbo Diesel (or in Italian issa Turbo Diesel ) so its not a complete mystery. But if all the letters together spelled banana youd probably be none the wiser. The JTD is a clever and complex piece of automotive technology and just goes to show what happens when you let rocket scientists loose with a couple of pumps and a monkey wrench.

Very good. I like that.

Companies using non-local names is not uncommon. 'Active' (Attivo in Italian), 'Dynamic' (Dinamico in Italian), 'Sporting' (no such translation) are not Italian. Although Eleganza and Prestigio are. I suppose it's just what the marketing bods think sounds right.

Strangely, Mitsubishi use the 'Attivo' for one of their basic colt models

I doub't 'Turbo Diesel Injection' has the same Capitals in German, although the common 'Pump Duese' is German

Welcome to the FF. You'll like it here - very informative and friendly (most of the time). The sky roof/window is wonderful - I use mine in the winter with the heater on.

Hi mate and welcome to the forum (y)

That spoiler looks similar to the novitec one except the novitec one looks a little better.

There's also a few similar ones here http://www.merkur-tuning.de/indexa.html

It could also be this one here although the centre mounts look a little larger here.
This one is purchasable from Here
