Hi
hope someone can help,
if i'm stuch in traffic for more then 15mins my scudo cuts out and i cant start it for about 20 mins ,the engine turns over but will not start ,
it's a 55 reg 19d jtd

Regards

Just my laymansthoughts, sounds like an overheating problem, what does the temperatur gauge read-does the radiator fan kick in when its high? might be worth taking the thermostat out and see if this makes a difference? Also may be worth taking a look at the deisel cooler under the nearside passenger-its behind the oblong plastic air scoop-is this blocked with leaves? If taking the thermostat out improves things then either a new thermostat is needed or its a case of pinpointing the problem which is causing the overheating-others on the forum here I am sure will know whats what.

ive had same problem for about a year now. it used to cut out and after 5 mins would restart but the last couple of times its taken 2 hours. im so fed up with my scudo its been recovered by the AA 4 times since december with numerous probs that ive bit the bullet and bought a new transit custom. whilst i wait for delivery the pipe from intercooler split and scudo off road again. will never by a fiat again.

Have you checked the crank sensor or double relay, both common and easily fixed cheaply. I spent 10 years at ford and I could tell you loads of transit horror stories;)

p.s. the scudo is a Peugeot with a Fiat badge.
