hi i have a mk2 elx jtd 1.9 punto
my mileage is flashing on and off and the speedo goes to 120mph
when i do about 30mph
any one help

mileage is flashing usally means you need to book it into fiat and get a proxy alinement

well they charged me £30 trade iirc

whats a proxes alignment? I thought it had something to do with computers, i.e proxy server?

Each module/node has a internal timer,proxy sychronizes these timers so CAN signals are recieved at correct rate/time.

so its a weird electrical thing that can only be sorted by a dealer, or someone with the right electrical thing to fix it? that usually makes it expensive (for the work required, I.e open bonnet, plug in, press button, close bonnet)

Not really,you should scan all modules for errors (acting on any found) then carry out the proxy-alignment process then re-scan for errors again.
This equipment costs alot of money & that money has to be clawed back,same as air-con specialist who will charge you £85 to check/refill air-con system that takes him half hour to one hour? You are infact paying for the cost of the machine/materials & labour.
