Does anyone have the Technical Information document for the Marelli ECU type IAW 59F as fitted to Mk2/Mk2B Punto (and probably some other Fiats)?

It's a multipoint injector system fitted to a 1242cc engine type 188A4.000

If not, does anyone have a link to source it?

Original will undoubtedly be in Italian and that would do if no-one has translated it yet.

Thanks,

Red.

just try trawling the internet, I doubt the ecu is shared with any other cars, not cars we get in the UK anyhow.

what info are you after exactly:confused:

cos I can tell ye that it regulary forgets its learn as you drive map, and reverts to factory settings (n)

I'm after the tech info such as pinout, peripheral connections, protocol for interrogating it (probably ISO EOBD but haven't proven that yet). I was then going to look into cheapest way to interface to a laptop.

I have one on a '53 Punto that has early signs of playing up (ECU light on for a while, also steering ECU light on). I'm tending towards dodgy connectors and/or maybe the vehicle speed sensor (somewhere on gearbox/transmission). I got hold of the relevant Haynes manual but it didn't help much (not even a schematic wiring diagram of injection/ignition bits and pieces).

So, any tech data would be better than none.

Cheers,

Red.

Oops! misread. Pretty sure that KWP2000 protocol is used someone in alfa145 is producig some software. Normal rs232 to +12v logic shifter and fast init gets you moving.
