Technical magnetti mareli fiat punto mk2 ecu HW number matters?

Dear fellow owners,

I was wondering if the HW numbers matter on these ecus. i have a punto mk2 for the old man and it does not fire up properly due to the ecu. I have a IAW59F.M3 HW023 ECU. I am looking to buy a virgin plug and play ecu with the same mode number 59FM3 but they have different HW numbers.. HW303 and HW603. Does this matter at all?

Hello there, Mrs. Menes. I'm actually researching a similar thing. Compatibility between versions in regards to ECU. I'm sorry that I can't help you with the question, right now. In the coming days I'll be working on my car "Punto II 1.2 8v 188 2004". I'll try to come back with useful info.
