hi..i have a 75 elx punto with many problems...
1. very poor mileage
2. fluctuating idle...especialy when cold
3. sudden high idle when decelerates suddenly at a light or so..wouldnt lower down unless i shut off the engine and start it again
4. stalling during warm up...when the fuel tank is less than 1/4 filled..and disappears if there's more gas than that!!!
5. when trying to accelerate there's a lag until the engine revs up.
6. the engine never warms up to the ideal temperature..i guess it's the fan thermostat...the fan always start very early....does that have anything to do with the above symptoms?

i changed plugs,leads,fuel filter...fuel pump is fine..the mechanic said that it could be the idle stabilizer and he's going to replace the whole carburetor..am not sure this a problem...

I had some of these problems. Does the injection warning light come up sometimes aswell? Anyway, I got the tempreture sensor changed. The part costed like 20 euros and my friend said it was easy to fit.
