Hi, punto jtd 80

My car won't start it will go with easy start but if i just crank it without it will throw a p1320 after its cleared of codes..

I have good fuel pressure for cranking in multiecuscan although when started the fuel pressure is higher than desired, not sure if its the remap..
I checked leak off and one injector is giving out slightly more fuel, I also tried this with the cam sensor unplugged which of course gives the p1320 error straight away, although that states signal not present as opposed to low signal.. however fuel is present when cranking for 10 seconds and measuring leak off.

Occasionally it is throwing a p0190 or p0191 usually when I touch the throttle and it cuts out this is intermittent which I'm wondering is this a sticky regulator and perhaps the reason for the higher fuel pressure.

Any ideas or has anyone experienced the same symptoms, I'm thinking maybe the crank sensor and fuel regulator are at fault here.
Is it worth removing the regulator and cleaning it?
I tried looking at rpms on multiecuscan but it isn't showing anything...
Worthy of note the car will restart when its been run a short while without easy start

What do you mean by that?
Is there no any parameters about engine RPM or when you click the checkbox on the engine RPM and the text turns red on MES, is it showing a stuck value regardless of the engine RPM like 0 when you are idling? If latter the case, I would definitely go after the crankshaft sensor. Bad crank/cam signal is known to cause crank no starts.

Also about the fuel pressure, If you're reaching the desired pressure while cranking it should at least fire up. Higher then reported value could be due to remap because AFAIK one of the easiest ways to get more power from a diesel is to increase the fuel pressure. I don't know how the remap is done whather it changes the ECU's desired fuel pressure point or altering the fuel pressure sensor to "see" less pressure than intended. But to me it looks a diffrent problem to chase later on.

Hi

In mes when I select parameter for rpm its not registering anything with the car running but fuel pressure is higher than expected value, leak off test seems good I assume ecu isn't sending signal to fire the injectors (probably crank sensor) milage about 120k crank sensor usually last 60k so probs due.

I have a new valeo crank sensor to put on.. The glowplug light was flashing I've replaced all the glow plugs, can't test as its in bits as I'm changing the turbo, it didn't blow I have a new one (bought cheap and slight upgrade) so radiator etc is off to do that.

It did at one point start it on easy start and sounded like it was out of sync possibly running on three, doubt the timing has slipped as it ran OK after but it would cut out when pressing the accelerator, interestingly if you turn it off and restart it will without easy start sometimes, possibly glow plugs.. Car has plenty of power so assumed good compression.
It was remapped by red dot

Thanks for your response.

6 week old post from dubsential

But they could still be looking :)

Thanks yes I've been a bit slack with it, seeing as going anywhere at the moment is a bit nightmarish..
I've been putting it off and doing jobs that didn't need it like the turbo lol.

See above in my response if your interested fiats are fun at times lol.

See? I guess when you have a Fiat, you're always looking... :D

By the way let us know when you make any progress @dubsential. Even though nobody looks interested in your post, you might help someone later on. You never know...

Yeah I will update on whether it fixed it or not, I'm also doing the clutch.. I hate doing it and find every reason not to lol.. At the moment its to warm then it will be to wet, realistically it doesn't take that long.
But I also snapped the turbo oil feed bolt which needs replacing so all good fun.
