Can anyone help me please?

The nobs for my heating have all of a sudden stopped lighting up. First of all i gave my dash a whack, and they came back on but now they just wont light up. Any ideas?

Sounds like a loose or corroded connection to me. Your best bet is to take the dash to bits (Haynes manual tells you how, have you got one?) and have a look at all the connections to the dash lighting. Take all the connectors off and see if they need cleaning - use Scotchbrite (i.e. those plastic pads for cleaning pans etc) to polish the contacts up and put a little WD40 on the contacts too

Haynes manual? I think its a case of unscrewing two screws at the bottom and then just pull it out, But im not sure i havent tried??

if its a mk1 and you just want to remover the middle bit of dash where heater controls are theres more than 2 screws, 1 is hidden behind the middle knob

I take it the middle dial just pulls off?

yep you also need to take the top vents off first

the vents above the heater controls, they easy when you go look you will see, you need alen keys
