Hi,
I threw my house keys on the dash board when I got in the car today and they fell down the windscreen vents and disappeared:cry::cry:.
They're student accommodation keys so I cant just get a new set cut its £70 which I don't have but I do have tools . My question is whats the best plan of attack?
Thanks in advance,
Dan

:yeahthat:

Or....

If they fell down the passenger side maybe they're caught on some wiring up behind the glovebox, in which case, get upside down in the seat and have a nosey up there with a torch.

Worst case scenario you'll have to take the whole dash out.
If this is the case then I'd just get a new set cut just to avoid taking out the dash

Hi thanks for the replies I have tried fishing around for them with a magnet etc but could seem to find anything but today as I moved one of the heater controls possibly from windscreen to foot well heater but I cant remember, I heard them fall deeper into the dash.
Any suggestions as to where they've ended up? I'm presuming that they've gone into the heater box but I don't really know the vent ducts so I don'y know where to start.
Thanks again,
Dan

I had a similar problem the day after I posted on this thread.
Chip coin for multi-storey car park. Put it on an anti-slip mat in the dip above the head unit.

After I parked up I went to put the coin in my pocket and it had gone :(. I assumed it had gone down the vents.

Had to pay £8.50 for a piece of plastic the size of a £1 coin.

Anyways, Haynes manual will show you how to remove the dash.
Best of luck
